Those days,we, JY were came in touch with Sr.Francia(First we met Sister on a Program which JYMACE did for Vikas Inmates)...We exchanged our ideas with her on Outreaches.. .she gave some new dimensions on the matter....
I am trying to put one of my outreach experiance with her.....
Vikas is a charitable institution run by Dharmagiri Sisters....They supported the people to built their own community... .Near Muvattupuzha there was a small colony where people who earn for their living with their physique...very hard working people..We planned to rech out to them...
JY social Engineers gathered, and prepared one datasheet in which some querys related to their lifestyles,earnings ,expectations, needs,health status...so on...
Emi,Jimesh,Jobin, Tintu,sebin, subin,lea, Sr francia went to the colony, we splitted up in to groups and gathered information from the colony people...we saw the troubled lives very near to our eyes...they shared their needs,their stories ...some people don't have well of their own ...struggle to give enough education to their kids..aa chemmna mannu niranja roadilude nadannapol.. we realised how much more HE provided to us...Sebinte vaakukal idariyathum. .oro veedinte situations kandu Aarudeokke kannu niranjathum okke...kannu thurannu kanedathu thanne...
Sister's Observation:Women in the colony have nothing to contribute to their Family...Chumma "Sora" paranju irikkuvaanennu( Athaayethu kothiyum nunayum paranju jeevitham thallineekkunnu) ...Engnae ivare pani edippikkum?. ..
We planned for a seminar for woman empowerment and how they can fruitfully utilise their time...Tintu told Fr.vadakkemury is her realtive (Infarm Director) .. He can teach 'how to make Paper covers? Idea was widely accepted and the seminar was conducted on their community hall...Rev.father taught about Cover making, Effective cultivation. ..Smart utlilsation of land..and so on...Woman of the community was so much impressed by Father's good jokes and he gave some encouragements in cultivation. ...

Time was around 5pm, we packed up and have a light snacks sponserd by Puthumana
We went back to our hostels with joy in the Heart
They were very much excited and implemented the ideas...Then you know how much variety of 'Cheera' they cultivated ,around 16 varieties.( I heard only 2 varietes 1) aa majenthayum 2) Green cheerayum) .But still the prize money is pending...they are waiting for it...Check with Sr.Francia.. .
